2026 Annual Children's Mental Health Advocacy Conference

Details on the Lives in the Balance 2026 Children’s Mental Health Advocacy Conference will be announced soon! The Conference is a powerful gathering of thousands of families, advocates, and professionals working towards a common goal: a world where kids can be kids, supported and safe. Each year, presentations from dozens of state and federal lawmakers, advocates, those with lived experiences with punitive, exclusionary discipline, and experts on alternatives cover both the state of protections and supports for kids and pathways for the future.

2026 Lives in the Balance Annual Summit

The Lives in the Balance 2026 Annual Summit is on May 20th and is now open for registration! This year’s topic — Between Alarm and Opportunity: Kids in the Digital Age — features speakers Dr. Jean Twenge, Eisha Buch from Common Sense Media, Dr. Meryl Alper, Dr. Candice Odgers, Dr. Mimi Ito, Kala Omeiza, and Dr. Ross Greene. We’ll be covering the contrasting views on this critical issue, along with solutions. Join us for a stimulating and informative day. If you can’t join live, your registration gives you access to the recording.

And if you missed or would like to revisit our virtual 2025 Annual Summit — which was held on Friday, April 11, 2025, with the theme Current Thinking in Autism and Pathological Demand Avoidance, and featured keynote speakers Dr. Shelley Moore, Dr. Barry Prizant, Dr. Judy Eagan, Sophie Leman (who is diagnosed with Autism/ADHD with a PDA profile), Dr. Destiny Huff, and our own Dr. Ross Greene — you can still watch it on demand!
